  1. What is one thing you can’t live without on your adventures? What is one thing that is in your wishlist for your adventures?

My phone but only for the camera 🤣 I’m a photographer by profession and absolutely LOVE capturing my adventures. On my wishlist is definitely a nice little mirrorless, I often get asked why I don’t take my ‘big camera’ but it’s pretty heavy to be lugging up a mountain!

  1. Would you say that going on more outdoor adventures has improved your mental health?

Yes, 100%

I’ve always been an outdoorsy person, and love being in nature. It really helps me switch off and clear my mind.

  1. What’s next on your adventure bucket list, and why does it excite you?

I’m a very spontaneous person and rarely make plans in advance. My bucket list is ever growing but one thing I’d love to tick off next year is a big mountain hike overseas.

  1. What does a typical day look like for you when you’re on an adventure?

If the weather looks good, I’m up and out early ready to catch sunrise somewhere up high. My big adventures tend to be in the Lake District ticking of Wainwrights - I’ve bagged 157 to date and hope to have a complete collection this time next year.

  1. How do you envision the future of outdoor adventuring, considering the growing interest and the need for conservation? Are there any books, documentaries, or resources you’d recommend to someone wanting to deepen their understanding and skills in outdoor adventuring?

I think it’s important to spread the ‘Leave No  Trace’ message and encourage others to follow suit. Anyone who loves nature should want to practise outdoor conservation whilst hiking. There are a few simple steps that we can all do to make a difference….

Stay on trail where possible

Take nothing but photos

Respect the wildlife

Avoid single use plastic

Protect water sources

And, where possible leave a positive trace if you can! Litter pick, learn about the area, teach others, buy local and donate, if you can to the local trusts.

GUILTY PLEASURE QUESTION:  When you’re not adventuring, what’s a hobby or activity you’re passionate about that might surprise people?

I’m big into fitness and if I’m not out adventuring you usually find me walking the dogs (we have 4!), at the gym or out running - I plan on another spring marathon so will be training for that after Christmas.
